Be part of a story that matters

Some of the most significant moments in a young person’s faith can begin with something really simple: a conversation, a leader who remembers their name, someone who listens, someone who keeps showing up.

We want to see the next generation know Jesus, grow in their faith and become mature, lifelong followers of Him. And we need people who are willing to come alongside them and be part of that.

You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to be a Bible teacher. You simply need a heart for young people, a willingness to serve, and a desire to help point them towards Jesus.

There are a number of ways you can get involved with Glenabbey Youth:

Encounter
Tuesday Nights | Year 8 - Upper Sixth

Encounter is our main weekly gathering for young people. We spend time exploring the Bible, praying, building friendships and helping young people work out what it looks like to follow Jesus in everyday life.

Much of that happens through smaller cell groups, where leaders have the opportunity to really know, encourage and disciple a group of young people over time.

We currently need:
3 male leaders + 3 female leaders

IGNITE
Sunday mornings | Year 8–10

IGNITE gives our younger teens a space of their own on Sunday mornings to connect with friends, build relationships with leaders and explore the Bible together.

Through talks, discussion and conversation, we want to help them understand the Christian faith and begin taking ownership of what they believe.

We currently need:
5 male or female leaders (but especially females!)

The Social
Every other Friday | Year 8–11 | 8:15–10pm

The Social is all about creating a fun, welcoming and safe place where young people can come, bring their friends and enjoy being together.

It’s also a brilliant opportunity to build relationships with young people who may have little or no connection with church, with a short talk or interview each night introducing something of Jesus and the Christian faith.

We currently need:
7 male or female leaders (but especially females!)

After Hours
Friday nights | Year 12–14

After Hours is a relaxed space for our older teens to hang out, slow down and spend time together.

At this stage of life, relationships really matter. We want to create a community where young people feel known, supported and encouraged as they navigate life, make big decisions and continue growing in their relationship with Jesus.

We currently need:
6 male or female leaders

Could you be part of it?

You might never know the full impact of showing up faithfully in a young person’s life.

But a conversation you have, a question you ask, a prayer you pray or the example you set could stay with them for years.

Come and be part of helping the next generation follow Jesus.
