MONDAY
Drawing Near to God
“Come near to God and he will come near to you.”
James 4:8
Devotional Thought
Prayer begins not with our words, but with God’s invitation. He welcomes His children into His presence through Jesus Christ. No matter how busy, weary, or distracted we may feel, God calls us to draw near to Him. As we begin this week, let us remember that prayer is not merely a duty; it is a privilege. The Lord delights in the fellowship of His people and invites us to bring every concern, hope and thanksgiving before Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for welcoming me into Your presence through Jesus Christ. Help me to seek You first today and to enjoy fellowship with You. Draw my heart closer to You and teach me to delight in prayer. May I walk with You throughout this day and grow in my love for You. Amen.
TUESDAY
Trusting God’s Wisdom
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5
Devotional Thought
There are many situations in life that we do not fully understand. Prayer reminds us that we serve a God whose wisdom is perfect. When we place our concerns before Him, we acknowledge that His plans are better than our own. Trusting God does not mean having all the answers; it means believing that the One who holds the answers is faithful and good.
Prayer
Lord, I confess that I often rely on my own understanding. Help me to trust You more fully today. Give me wisdom for the decisions I face and confidence in Your guidance. Teach me to rest in Your faithfulness and to follow Your leading with a willing heart. Amen.
WEDNESDAY
Praying for the Church
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:24
Devotional Thought
The church is God’s family, united in Christ and called to serve Him together. Prayer strengthens the bonds of fellowship and helps us carry one another’s burdens. Today, let us pray for our church leaders, ministries, families, children, young people and those who are struggling. As we pray for one another, God deepens our love and strengthens His people for His work.
Prayer
Gracious Father, thank You for the gift of Your church. Bless our congregation and strengthen us in faith and love. Guide our leaders with wisdom and humility. Encourage those who are discouraged, comfort those who are hurting, and help us all to grow in Christlikeness. Make us a faithful witness to Your grace. Amen.
THURSDAY
Seeking God’s Strength
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
Devotional Thought
We often feel inadequate for the challenges we face. Yet God does not ask us to rely on our own strength. Prayer is an expression of dependence upon Him. When we acknowledge our weakness, we make room for His strength to be displayed. God’s grace is sufficient for every circumstance, and His power sustains us each day.
Prayer
Father, I need Your strength today. Where I am weak, be my help. Where I am fearful, give me courage. Where I am weary, renew me by Your Spirit. Help me to depend upon Your grace and to trust that You will provide all that I need for this day. Amen.
FRIDAY
A Heart of Thanksgiving
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
Psalm 107:1
Devotional Thought
Thanksgiving is an essential part of prayer. Gratitude lifts our eyes from our circumstances to God’s goodness. Even during difficult seasons, we can thank Him for His unfailing love, His salvation, His daily provision and His promises. A thankful heart cultivates joy and strengthens faith. Today, take time to remember and celebrate God’s blessings.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness. Thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and for Your daily care. Forgive me when I take Your blessings for granted. Fill my heart with gratitude and help me to honour You with joyful praise. Amen.
SATURDAY
Praying for Our Community
“You are the light of the world.”
Matthew 5:14
Devotional Thought
God has placed His people in their communities to shine the light of Christ. Prayer prepares us to serve, love and witness effectively. As we pray for our neighbours, schools, workplaces, local leaders and those who do not yet know Christ, we participate in God’s mission. The Lord is able to use ordinary believers to make an extraordinary difference through the power of His Spirit.
Prayer
Father, I pray for my community today. Open hearts to the gospel and draw many people to faith in Christ. Help me to be a faithful witness through my words and actions. Give our church opportunities to serve others and demonstrate Your love. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our community. Amen.
SUNDAY
Worshipping the Risen King
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
Psalm 150:6
Devotional Thought
Today is a special opportunity to gather with God’s people in worship. We come together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, hear God’s Word, encourage one another and offer praise to the Lord. As we prepare to worship God together, let us come with expectant hearts, ready to listen, learn and respond to God in faith and obedience.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your victory over sin and death. As I worship You today, fill my heart with wonder and praise. Speak to me through Your Word and strengthen my faith. Bless our congregation as we gather in Your name. May all that we do bring glory and honour to You. Amen.
