Heather joined the Glenabbey staff team in January 2026, working part-time as a Kids and Family Worker alongside Esther and Jenni. Her connection with Glenabbey goes back much further, though: she and her husband, Garth, have been members of the church since 2005 and have been part of church life here for more than twenty years.

Alongside her role at Glenabbey, Heather teaches part-time in a school in Belfast, where she currently teaches Year 3 and leads the school’s Scripture Union group. Working with children is therefore a big part of Heather’s week, both in the classroom and at church, and her experience in education fits naturally with her role helping children and families at Glenabbey grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus.

Heather and Garth have two grown-up children, Kathryn and Peter. Away from church and school, Heather enjoys getting out for a walk, particularly when it involves a trip to the North Coast.
