Andrew joined the Glenabbey staff team in September 2018 and, alongside Heather Donaghy, helps to lead our Youth Ministry. He also leads the church’s Communications Team, bringing together two roles that give him plenty of opportunity to think creatively about how we communicate, teach and equip people well.

At the heart of Andrew’s ministry is a passion for discipling young people. For him, youth ministry goes well beyond what happens at the regular Tuesday and Friday night programmes. He wants to see young people growing in their faith through meaningful relationships and one-to-one mentoring, and seeks both to model that himself and to encourage other youth leaders to invest personally in the young people they serve. Andrew also spends a significant amount of time writing and developing Glenabbey’s own Youth resources. Rather than relying solely on off-the-shelf material, he enjoys creating resources shaped for the young people we are actually working with, and then turning those ideas into well-designed books and booklets that can be used by young people and leaders alike.

Andrew and his wife Robyn live in Ballyclare with their daughters, Evie and Sofia, and are active members of our Lismenary home group. Away from work, Andrew enjoys football, padel and experimenting with AI to develop apps, card games and mobile games. He's rarely short of a new idea or creative project, and what starts as a little experiment can sometimes turn into something considerably more ambitious than originally planned.
